The Chemours Discovery Hub, located in Newark, DE, has a Data Center Cooling Engineer – Technical Service position available in the Technology function. In Thermal & Specialty Solutions (TSS), we harness next‑generation, low‑Global Warming Potential (GWP) technology to provide market‑driven innovations to customers in the areas of Refrigerants, Propellants, Fire Protection, Foam Blowing Agents and heat transfer fluids for Thermal Management used in the building and construction segments, as well as Mobile and Stationary heating and cooling systems.

Our technology organization consists of experts in the areas of fluorine, catalysis, process development, engineering, analytical / formulation science, and application development, to name a few.

This highly visible, key role will support deployment of our liquid cooling solutions for Information Technology applications, reporting directly to the Global Technical Service Manager.Day‑to‑day activities will focus specifically on two‑phase cooling applications, including immersion cooling and direct‑to‑chip for data centers and other thermal management applications. This role is based at the Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, DE.

Responsibilities
  • Create and deliver refrigerant‑related training, both in‑person and virtual, including at customer sites, industry conferences, and tradeshows.
  • Demonstrate expertise in various refrigeration system architectures and refrigerant types, including data center cooling applications.
  • Provide direct technical support for OEM and aftermarket customers.
  • Support quality investigations through lab‑based analytical techniques and troubleshooting.
  • Become proficient with industry and in‑house refrigerant related software packages in support of customer requests and training.
  • Participate in industry Codes & Standards activities.
  • Develop refrigerant‑related literature / publications to support industry education.
  • Engage, develop, collaborate with and maintain good relationships with value chain partners, end‑users, academia/universities, national labs and industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams within the organization, customers and partners.
  • Travel 20 – 50% of time to customers and partners.
Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering or Material Science with at least 5 years (10+ years preferred) of relevant work experience in air‑conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) applications or data center cooling technologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data center operations and liquid cooling for data centers
  • Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to work well with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time‑sensitive projects
  • Ability to work in a team environment with high degree of initiative, independence and self‑motivation with flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely.
