Position:Data Center Monitoring Systems Engineer

This role is 100% ONSITE - MUST be LOCAL or willing to relocated at your OWN expense
HOURS: MON-FRI
We are seeking a Data Center Environmental Monitoring Administrator with strong administration and configuration experience supporting environmental monitoring software and systems. This role requires more than simply monitoring software programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring, updating, administering, and programming monitoring systems, including adding new components and configuring alerting and alarming thresholds. The candidate should have experience supporting the backend of monitoring environments and be capable of configuring new items to be monitored, such as UPS systems, power strips, cameras, and other data center equipment. Experience managing software licenses and configuring alerting thresholds and set points is also required.
Key Responsibilities
Support Data Center Managers to ensure all facility duties are run to meet data center standards.
Build, manage, and maintain MEP monitoring tools utilizing Vertiv Sitescan and/or APC Data Center Expert/IT Advisor for performance, availability, reliability and security of IT resources.
Support of data center staff to provide continuous business operations.
Administer and manage APC DCE/ITA or Vertiv SiteScan environments and servers.
Configure, update, and maintain environmental monitoring software and systems.
Add and configure new components and equipment to be monitored, including UPSs, power strips, cameras, and other devices.
Configure alerting and alarming thresholds, set points, and notifications.
Manage license counts for APC DCE and ITA environments.
Support the backend administration, configuration, and programming of monitoring systems.
Monitor and understand the operation and alarming of HVAC, UPS, ATS, and generator systems.
Work with systems and equipment associated with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering.
Apply knowledge of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems and their associated monitoring and alarming.
Support data center environmental monitoring and related infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and maintain monitoring configurations to ensure accurate system alerts and alarms.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
3+ years of relevant experience in environmental monitoring, data center infrastructure, systems administration, or a related field.
Must have experience managing APC DCE/ITA or Vertiv SiteScan environments and servers.
Understanding of the functions and alarming associated with HVAC, UPS, ATS, and generators.
Background in incident ticketing and change management applications
Strong administration skills, including the ability to configure, update, program, and add new components to monitoring systems.
Experience configuring alerting, alarming, thresholds, and set points.
Strong exposure to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems.
Ability to support the backend administration and configuration of environmental monitoring systems.
Other Requirements:
Able to Travel when needed to Mexico or other data centers inside the USA, international travel
Able to work between 4-10 hours of over-time each week.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in Electrical Engineering is highly preferred.
Data center environmental monitoring experience is a significant plus.
Experience working directly with data center infrastructure and environmental monitoring systems.
Familiar with data center design, IT floor space management, cabinet power and U-space management, electrical, environmental, and mechanical equipment supporting the data center (e.g. HVAC - Heating Venting Air Conditioning, UPS,
and Generators).
