Job description

Job Title: Data Center Cable Technician

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Job Summary We are seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join our team as Data Center Cable Technicians. This position is responsible for assisting with the installation, routing, labeling, and organization of network and fiber optic cabling within data center environments.

Previous cabling experience is preferred but not required.

We are open to candidates with hands-on backgrounds in construction, electrical work, low-voltage systems, warehouse operations, manufacturing, installation services, or other mechanically inclined roles. If you enjoy working with your hands, following detailed instructions, and being part of a team, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Install, route, dress, and secure copper and fiber optic cabling throughout data center facilities

Label, test, and document cable runs according to customer and project specifications

Install cable pathways, ladder racks, trays, and support structures

Read and follow basic diagrams, work orders, and installation instructions

Maintain organized work areas and adhere to all safety requirements

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience:

Structured cabling experience (copper or fiber)

Data center, telecommunications, or low-voltage installation experience,Construction, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, or other hands-on trade experience

Required Skills:

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Ability to follow directions and pay attention to detail

Comfortable working in active construction or data center environments

Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Basic familiarity with hand tools

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Climb ladders and work in overhead spaces

Bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods

Work in large-scale data center and construction environments
