Roles & Responsibilities
Data Stewardship & Governance
• Act as Data Steward for assigned insurance data domains (e.g., Client, Policy, Submission, Carrier, Broker, Producer, Program, Coverage).
• Define and maintain business definitions, data standards, and rules in alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
• Partner with Data Owners to support data accountability, issue prioritization, and resolution.
• Ensure alignment of data usage with regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements relevant to insurance brokerage.
Data Quality Management
• Define, document, and monitor data quality rules and KPIs (completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency).
• Review data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate remediation with business and technology teams.
• Support implementation of preventive and detective data quality controls across source systems and downstream platforms.
• Track and report data quality metrics and trends to governance forums.
Metadata, Lineage & Documentation
• Maintain business glossary, data dictionary, and metadata for assigned domains.
• Validate and support data lineage and traceability, particularly for regulatory and reporting use cases.
• Ensure consistent documentation across source systems, data platforms, and analytics outputs.
Insurance Brokerage Domain Alignment
• Apply strong understanding of insurance brokerage workflows, including:
o Submissions, placement, binding, endorsements
o Policy lifecycle management
o Carrier relationships and commission structures
o Client, account, and program hierarchies
• Support data readiness for:
o Executive and operational reporting
o Carrier and market reporting
o Regulatory and compliance needs
o Advanced analytics and AI initiatives
Collaboration & Enablement
• Collaborate with Data Owners, Architects, Engineers, BI teams, and Compliance stakeholders.
• Participate in data governance councils, working groups, and design reviews.
• Support onboarding of new data domains and initiatives into the enterprise data platform.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 per year
