Job description

Primary Function

Responsible for the day to day operations within the Patient Access areas by providing assistance and support to the staff, Supervisor and Manager. Streamlines daily functions and ensures compliance with all established policies and procedures. Responsible for analyzing databases, entering data and creating reports based on data collection. Coordinates schedules, meetings, maintains attendance system, compose correspondence and files. Encourages a team approach towards achieving the overall goals of the revenue cycle and CNE hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data with statistical methods, interpret results and provide summaries.
  • Design and maintain databases for the purpose of data analysis.
  • Extract, manipulate, format and present data obtained from various systems in a manner that meets Department management teams specifications and timelines.
  • Explore and display data to discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends.
  • Enter data from source documents into computer.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies by contacting sources of information.
  • Create data flow, process diagrams and gap analysis.
  • Create reports based on data collection. Collaborate with department management to create various ad hoc reports.
  • Develop and maintain department-specific shared intranet site.
  • Perform administrative and department support activities for multiple members of Department management team. Duties include coordinate schedules, arrange meetings, maintain department attendance system, coordinate and distribute communications, compose correspondence and file.
  • Trains and educates staff on internal and external policies, procedures,
  • regulations, and statutes applicable to the Patient Access functions.
  • Ensures high levels of performance, quality, and achievement of goal from quality of results within the department.
  • Performs Cerner, Passport and Teletracking testing as required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all payor policies as they relate to insurance
  • coverage and eligibility of third party payers, in determining proper coverage of patient liability.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Specifications

Associates degree or equivalent education and experience required. Five years of previous experience in a healthcare or business environment required. Experience in spreadsheet applications, report writing language, solid analytical and data aggregation. Excellent human relations, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment and meet deadlines. Knowledge of third party payers and collection policies and procedures required. Excellent oral and written skills with the knowledge and ability to communicate and collaborate with agencies and internal and external customers required.
