Job description

Purpose of this Position:

We are seeking highly motivated undergraduate students to join our research team and gain valuable hands-on experience in cutting-edge pharmaceutical science. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in contributing to innovative projects supported by USDA funding, particularly in the development and testing of nanomedicines derived from natural products.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow laboratory protocols
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participate in the design, preparation, and testing of nanomedicine formulations
  • Support ongoing experiments and perform routine laboratory tasks
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and document experimental data
  • Assist in data entry and analysis, and help interpret findings under faculty guidance
     

Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

Previous laboratory experience is a plus but not required – training will be provided

Ergonomic Requirements:

  • Standing for extended periods while performing laboratory procedures
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements for tasks such as pipetting, weighing, and sample preparation
  • Working at a computer for data entry and analysis
  • Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, lab coat, and safety goggles

Hours:

10 - 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
