Job description

Catalight Care Services is a multi-disciplinary non-profit organization that provides assessment, clinical case management, behavioral health treatment and research opportunities in Northern California. The Developmental Assessment Postdoctoral Trainee would focus on psychological assessment, including initial diagnostic evaluations as well as second opinion evaluations as needed for CCS clients using a variety of diagnostic tools including measures assessing intellectual, behavioral, and adaptive functioning in a manner that is consistent with clinical best practices for CCS. The Developmental Assessment Postdoctoral Trainee is integral in all aspects of diagnostic assessment including preparing and administering assessment protocols, summarizing the client's functioning including a DSM-5-TR diagnosis where applicable, providing feedback to the client and their family, and providing a comprehensive written to include in the client's medical record.
The Developmental Assessment Postdoctoral Trainee is a Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm position, designed for the Postdoctoral Trainee to accrue 2,000 hours of supervised clinical postdoctoral training in the area of developmental assessment, with a focus in developmental disability diagnostic evaluations. We follow a training model that promotes mastery of clinical competencies through individual mentorship and supervision, group supervision, didactic trainings, conferences, and other training opportunities under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, preparing the Postdoctoral Trainee for the independent practice of psychology once they become licensed.
On a weekly basis, Postdoctoral Trainees receive a minimum of 1 hour direct individual supervision by a licensed psychologist, in addition to a minimum of 3 additional hours of supervision consisting of additional individual supervision, group supervision, and/or didactic instruction. Postdoctoral Trainees will gain 20-30 hours per week of clinical practice experience across a variety of activities including direct testing, consultation, feedback sessions with clients/parents, and intake assessments. Opportunities to provide direct evidence-based therapeutic services, as well as to participate in research led by Catalight Research Institute, may also be available.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in an interdisciplinary team in completing diagnostic evaluations for toddlers, children adolescents and adults where common differential diagnosis include ASD, ADHD, developmental delay, language disorder, intellectual disabilities
  • Cultivate a culture that expands Catalight Care Services Values in Action
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors
  • Develop skills with support of supervisor to plan and complete assessment batteries, including test administration, interpretation, feedback sessions, and report writing
  • Participate in group and individual supervision
  • Attend didactic training sessions

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

Completion of APA accredited Psychology program

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology

Successful completion of predoctoral internship

Exposure and proficiency in relevant assessment measures

Previous experience treating individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population
  • A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience
    and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills; frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy
  • Skilled at providing feedback and training on policies and procedures.
  • Comfortable presenting to large groups
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). especially Excel and related computer software.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence)
  • Experience working with data visualization/reporting software e.g., Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of effective processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Skilled in establishing & maintaining optimal communication channels
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience defining data and reporting requirements, analysis of data, and translating trends and outcomes into actionable recommendations.
  • Work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multitasking and managing day-to-day responsibilities without supervision.
  • Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
  • Ability to travel to multiple work sites; reliable transportation needed.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with insurance and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must pass health screenings, obtain vaccinations and clear TB testing based on company policies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through funding source(s) if applicable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Safety Care certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAQH credential.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NPI number.
  • Must attend all required training.
