Job description

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Construction Analytics, Data & Power BI Manager to turn complex project data into actionable insight that drives smarter decisions across the organization. This role partners closely with operations, project controls, and leadership to deliver trusted analytics around cost, schedule, productivity, and risk—ensuring data reflects how work is executed in the field. Ideal for a construction analytics leader who wants to shape performance, elevate visibility, and influence project outcomes at scale.

Position Summary

The Construction Analytics, Data & Power BI Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and governing construction-focused analytics, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support project execution and leadership decision-making across Primoris Energy Services.

This role transforms data from field, project, and corporate systems into clear, actionable insights related to cost, schedule, productivity, and performance. Operating within a matrix organization, the Manager partners closely with Operations, Project Controls, Construction Technology, Finance, and leadership teams to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and aligned with how projects are delivered in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Analytics & Reporting

  • Own and manage construction analytics and reporting solutions across all divisions.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards supporting project performance, executive reporting, and operational insights.
  • Translate complex construction data into clear, usable information for project teams and leadership.
  • Ensure analytics focus on execution performance—not just compliance reporting.

Data Integration & Data Quality

  • Partner with the Construction Technology Manager and IT to integrate data from field and enterprise systems, including:
    • EcoSys
    • Viewpoint
    • Autodesk Construction Cloud
    • Power Apps
    • SharePoint
    • Access databases
  • Establish and enforce data definitions, standards, and governance to ensure consistency across projects and divisions.
  • Monitor data quality and resolve issues impacting reporting accuracy or usability.

Project Performance & Insights

  • Support analysis of project metrics such as:
    • Cost performance and forecasting
    • Schedule trends and variance
    • Labor productivity and production rates
    • Risk indicators and early warning signals
  • Partner with Project Controls, Operations, and Finance to align analytics with business needs.
  • Help leadership identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement across projects.

Power BI Development & Enablement

  • Design scalable Power BI models, datasets, and visualizations.
  • Manage report versioning, access controls, and user experience.
  • Support training and adoption of analytics tools across field and office teams.
  • Enable self-service analytics where appropriate while maintaining data integrity.

Governance, Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish best practices for construction analytics, reporting cadence, and dashboard usage.
  • Prevent fragmentation of reporting tools and “shadow dashboards.”
  • Continuously improve analytics capabilities based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
  • Support audits, executive reviews, and strategic initiatives with reliable data.

Collaboration & Matrix Leadership

  • Operate effectively within a matrix organization, influencing project and division teams without direct authority.
  • Work closely with:
    • Director of Technical Services
    • Construction Technology Manager
    • Project Controls
    • Operations leadership
    • Finance and corporate stakeholders
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in construction analytics, project controls, data analytics, or related roles within construction or infrastructure.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, including data modeling and dashboard development.
  • Strong understanding of construction execution, project controls, and field data workflows.
  • Experience working with construction and enterprise systems such as EcoSys, Viewpoint, or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Ability to translate operational questions into meaningful analytics and insights.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting multiple construction divisions or market sectors.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Power Platform, or similar data tools.
  • Experience aligning analytics across Operations, Project Controls, and Finance.
  • Background in a large, diversified contractor or EPC organization.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role located in Houston / Pearland, TX, with occasional jobsite visits.
  • Periodic travel to active construction projects as needed.

  • Must comply with all Primoris safety policies and procedures.

  • 401(k) with company match, vested day-one
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan [ESPP]
