Job Description –Business Intelligence Analyst (Data & Analytics)

Mission of the Role:

Apex is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This role is responsible for helping design, build, validate, and continuously improve Power BI products that enable better decision-making across the business.

This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate with exceptional analytical ability, strong Excel skills, and a desire to build a career in business intelligence. Prior Power BI experience is helpful but not required—we're looking for someone who thinks logically, enjoys solving complex problems, learns new technologies quickly, and is comfortable leveraging AI tools to research, troubleshoot, and accelerate their learning.

The BI Analyst will work closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into intuitive, visually polished, and highly usable BI products. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a passion for creating exceptional user experiences, intellectual curiosity, and the initiative to independently solve problems and continuously improve both the product and the way work gets done.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Intelligence Development:
    • Design, develop, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports.
    • Build intuitive, visually polished BI products that help users quickly understand and act on data.
    • Develop and maintain DAX measures, calculations, and semantic models.
    • Find opportunities to upgrade and enhance existing dashboards and reports with additional functionality and better UI/UX.
    • Ensure reports are accurate, performant, and easy to use.
    • Participate in dashboard testing, validation, and quality assurance prior to release.
  • Product Development:
    • Partner with Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Contribute ideas to improve existing BI products and user experience.
    • Document report logic, calculations, and design decisions.
    • Support ongoing feature releases and continuous product improvements.
  • Data Analysis & Problem Solving:
    • Investigate reported data issues and assist with root cause analysis.
    • Validate report outputs against underlying data.
    • Perform exploratory analysis to answer business questions and identify trends.
    • Help improve data quality through testing and validation.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Continuously learn new technologies, development techniques, and AI-assisted workflows to improve productivity and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize, model, analyze, and validate data.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience with Git and Snowflake is a plus. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem is highly desirable.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Preferred
    • Exposure to Power BI through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
