Data Analytics Intern

This is a paid internship offering $20/hour, with hands-on experience in building scalable data systems.

The Data Analytics Intern will support our team in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers reporting and analytics across the organization. This role offers exposure to database design, data integration, and modern cloud platforms. The ideal candidate is technically curious and passionate about building clean, scalable data systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in designing and maintaining data models that serve as the foundation for Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Build and optimize semantic models, relationships, and calculated measures to support self-service reporting
  • Write and refine SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data feeding into reporting layers
  • Support the development of data pipelines that consolidate information from multiple operational systems
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting and data requests from leadership, asset management, operations, and finance teams
  • Perform data quality checks and troubleshoot discrepancies between source systems and reports
  • Assist in building and maintaining Power BI workspaces, datasets, and refresh schedules
  • Research best practices in report performance optimization, data modeling, and platform scalability

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Experience with SQL and relational database concepts
  • Basic understanding of data modeling principles
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar visualization tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical audiences
