Job Title: Senior AI Data Analyst
Job Type: Contract (this role is a 12-month assignment)
Job Salary: $52-$54/hour
Job Schedule: M-F, 40 hrs/week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI Data Analyst to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence solutions in a large, data-driven public service environment.

This role plays a critical part in modernizing operations through responsible use of AI, improving service delivery, increasing efficiency, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. The ideal candidate blends strong technical expertise with the ability to translate complex insights into actionable strategies for leadership and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
AI & Advanced Analytics
  • Design, build, and deploy machine learning models, predictive analytics solutions, NLP tools, and AI-driven automation
  • Lead full lifecycle model development: data acquisition, feature engineering, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Apply responsible AI practices to ensure fairness, explainability, and transparency
Data Strategy & Governance
  • Maintain data quality standards, metadata practices, and model documentation
  • Partner with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure handling of sensitive data
  • Support development of AI governance, ethics frameworks, and model risk management processes
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve operations and service outcomes
  • Communicate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to analysts and cross-functional teams
Reporting & Visualization
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track KPIs, trends, and forecasts
  • Build and maintain Business Intelligence solutions (e.g., Power BI)
  • Integrate AI-driven insights into reporting for real-time decision-making

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or AI/ML roles
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning model development and deployment
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Experience with NLP, predictive modeling, or automation solutions
  • Strong understanding of data governance, model validation, and performance metrics (e.g., MAE, F1, AUROC)
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical insights to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets in regulated environments
  • Familiarity with MLOps, model monitoring, and lifecycle management
