The Logistics Analyst will use analytical tools to extract, validate, and organize logistics data into actionable insights, identifying opportunities for cost savings and driving accountability. They will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with the supply chain and procurement teams, commercial teams, transportation, logistics and distribution to help drive accountability and streamline logistical flow across both inbound and outbound freight.
This position reports to the Distribution Manager and is part of the Global Supply Chain team located in Indianapolis. This will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Coordination with Plant Buyer / Planner functions to reinforce the standard work associated with the transportation of both domestic and international supply
  • Governance and execution of our revised inbound transportation routing in conjunction with the BEC DX FP&A provider
  • Includes the charge-back to the supplier for the entire shipment should they deviate from the routing guide without prior approval
  • Implementation and execution of a Premium Freight Authorization process that charges the supplier or the plant for premium freight based upon responsibility
  • Perform analytics and drive an accountability culture with the commercial teams for the successful capture of outbound freight paid as compared to freight costs recovered from the customer
  • New standard work and support to our Finished Goods Fulfillment Strategy on what to ship, how to ship it, and an alignment on the impacts to balance sheet and P&L

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, or related field with 5+ years of experience
  • Strong understanding of data related to logistics and freight costs as it applies to transportation, supply chain operations, and business financials
  • Ability to connect analytical outputs to real-world logistics execution
  • Demonstrates strong verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization while leading with integrity

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Experience working in a global or multi-regional environment
  • Knowledge across multiple transportation modes: Parcel (domestic and international), LTL, FTL, and International Air/Ocean
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or additional continuous improvement methodologies
