Target Salary Range*: $130,000 - $200,000

*This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level, years of experience and/or certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary


Position Overview

The Amatriot Group is seeking a junior to mid-level AFSIM Analyst to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division. This position focuses on Modeling and Simulation tasks using the Advanced Framework for Simulation Integration and Modeling to support electronic warfare and broader electromagnetic spectrum operations initiatives.

The AFSIM Analyst will support model development, scenario scripting, and data analysis in collaboration with experienced engineers and analysts.


Key ResponsibilitiesAFSIM Scenario Development and Execution
  • Assist in developing and executing AFSIM-based simulation scenarios to support system assessments and mission-level analysis.
  • Apply programming skills, including Python, C/C++, or similar languages, to automate scenario generation, data extraction, or visualization tasks as needed.
Modeling, Simulation, and Tool Integration
  • Work with senior engineers to integrate AFSIM outputs with complementary tools such as STK, NGTS, or Builder.
  • Support model-based systems engineering efforts by applying structured modeling approaches to simulation requirements and outputs.
Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyze simulation results.
  • Document outcomes.
  • Assist in preparing reports and technical briefings.
Team and Customer Collaboration
  • Collaborate with government and contractor teams to align modeling efforts with customer objectives.
  • Work fully on-site at Crane, IN and collaborate with a multidisciplinary technical team.

QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
Experience
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in modeling and simulation, ideally with AFSIM or similar simulation tools.
  • Experience supporting DoD programs or defense analysis efforts.
Skills
  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming, including Python, C/C++, or similar languages.
  • Exposure to MBSE tools or methodologies, such as SysML, MagicDraw, or Cameo.
  • Familiarity with mission-level or constructive simulation environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in a technical context.
  • Experience interpreting simulation data and producing clear, actionable reports.
  • Interest in developing deeper expertise in EW and EMSO applications.
Clearance
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance at minimum.

Preferred Qualifications
  • TS/SCI clearance preferred.
