Job description

POSITION: Targeting & Analysis Associate
LOCATION: Washington, DC
American Bridge 21st Century, a progressive research and communications organization dedicated to holding Republicans accountable for their words and actions, is hiring a Targeting & Analysis Associate to join our Data Team. This position is primarily based in our Washington, DC office.
That Data team works in conjunction with our research, communications, and video research programs to maximize the productivity of our workflow. Ideal candidates have an understanding of the political landscape and are passionate about optimizing how we deploy our resources on it.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Assist the organization in identifying and prioritizing congressional state legislative, and other political targets using precinct-level trend analysis and incumbent vulnerability assessment.
  • Support measurement of organizational impact by documenting district-level voter movement before and after program activity.
  • Help integrate targeting intelligence into daily workflow of other American Bridge teams by maintaining an ongoing watch function on races, retirements, and environmental shifts that affect the target list.
  • Assist with donor-facing analytical documents translating precinct data into accessible narratives about voter movement and district trends.
  • Identify emerging pickup opportunities and undervalued races, congressional, state legislative, that fall outside conventional targeting consensus.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Self-motivation and proven ability to work independently and exercise discretion and independent judgment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Familiarity with open-source GIS tooling;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn quickly;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines on a daily basis as well as adapt to new challenges;
  • Comfortable working after hours and on weekends.

  • 14 paid holidays per year.
