Data Analyst II, Intelligence Enablement role supports the evolution of Optum from traditional analytics and reporting toward AI-powered intelligence, automation, and decision support. This role is responsible for developing analytics assets, enabling self-service intelligence, supporting AI agents, and transforming business data into actionable insights that drive growth, retention, operational excellence, and business outcomes.

Working closely with AI, Databricks, Data Operations, Reporting & Rendering, Product, and business stakeholders, the analyst will help build the intelligence foundation that powers Genie, Copilot, AI agents, and future Autonomous Revenue Intelligence capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Intelligence & Analytics
    • Develop and maintain curated Databricks datasets, metrics, and intelligence assets
    • Build and optimize SQL, Python, and analytical workflows supporting business intelligence initiatives
    • Analyze business, operational, customer, and financial data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights
    • Support development of Databricks silver and gold layer assets
    • Perform exploratory analysis to identify new business opportunities and operational improvements
  • AI & Agent Enablement
    • Support the development and testing of AI agents, including: 
    • Prepare and curate knowledge sources, prompts, metadata, and business context used by AI solutions
    • Evaluate and improve AI-generated insights, recommendations, and business outputs
    • Help identify new opportunities for automation and intelligent workflow orchestration
  • Self-Service Intelligence
    • Support Databricks Genie Spaces and Copilot-enabled analytics experiences
    • Develop semantic layers, business definitions, and reusable analytical assets
    • Promote data literacy and self-service analytics adoption among business users
    • Ensure business logic, calculations, and metrics remain accurate, governed, and trusted
  • Business Partnership
    • Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into analytical solutions
    • Support product, operations, client management, sales, and strategy teams with data-driven recommendations
    • Assist in the development of executive-ready presentations and analytical narratives
    • Participate in opportunity sizing, business case development, and strategic initiatives
  • Governance & Quality
    • Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance, privacy, and security requirements
    • Maintain documentation, lineage, metadata, and business definitions
    • Support certification and quality validation of analytical assets, dashboards, and AI-generated outputs
    • Promote consistent use of approved metrics and enterprise standards

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience of Analytics & Data in SQL, Databricks, Data Modeling, Business Intelligence, Statistical Analysis, Data Analysis and Problem Solving
  • 5 years of experience Data of Management & Governance in Data Governance, Data Quality, Business Metadata and Documentation, Familiarity with Data Privacy and Security Standards
  • 1 years of experience AI & Automation with familiarity with Generative AI technologies, experience using AI-powered analytics tools (Copilot, Genie, ChatGPT, etc.), Basic Prompt Engineering and understanding of AI-assisted workflows and automation concepts

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
