Job description

At Daniel Defense Only the Best Build the Best... Daniel Defense engineers and manufactures the world's finest weapon systems and accessories. Our mission to honor God and defend freedom is accomplished by serving customers and providing top quality solutions to our military, law enforcement, and civilian clients seeking premium firearms for home defense, hunting, and sport shooting. As a Senior Accountant , you will be responsible for the functions outlined below:

Essential Functions:

Demonstrate commitment to and lead environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures. Maintain the Fixed Asset sub-ledger, including all additions, disposals, and related accumulated depreciation. Reconcile prepaid and accrual accounts, researching and resolving variances. Reconcile current and long-term debt accounts and maintain supporting schedules. Prepare sales tax and federal excise tax returns, and reconcile related balance sheet accounts. Analyze monthly expense account trends and provide detailed variance explanations. Assist with external and bank audits. Contribute to the company's efforts to improve safety, 6S, quality, delivery, and productivity. Uphold company standards on integrity, safety, fair treatment, and a positive work environment. Perform other responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 4-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Potential supervision of junior accountants. Typically report to a supervisor or manager. Manage moderately complex project aspects. Work independently and collaboratively. Experience with ERP or other business systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and with teams at different levels. Efficient time management skills. Highly detail-oriented and organized. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and budgets. Strong computer and Excel skills. Physical Requirements:

Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending. Work in a manufacturing environment, around machinery, noise, chemicals, lights/lasers, etc. Wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required.
