Job description

Hours:  9:30am to 6:30pm Friday through Tuesday

Job Summary: 

The primary purpose of this position is to accurately and efficiently prepare high-quality culinary dishes.

Maintains attitudes and behaviors that demonstrate and uphold the Mission Statement of Trinity Woods (TW), supports the TW core values and shows an understanding of TW’s person-centered philosophy.

Job Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Minimum of six to twelve months industry experience as a Line Cook in a restaurant setting.
  3. Ability to read and interpret simple instructions and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  4. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  5. Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  6. Ability to keep records in order to estimate food requirements, accurately plan productions requirements, and track production.
  7. General understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  8. Food handler’s certification required.

Responsibilities:

Provides the highest quality of food service to customers at all times, while ensuring safe, sanitary, and efficient practices supporting professional standards of dining and nutrition services.

  1. Follows menus and recipes in order to produce high-quality culinary dishes.
  2. Responsible for preparing entrees, soups, side dishes, and baked goods in accordance with all pertinent safety and health regulations.
  3. Observe and taste prepared dishes in order to determine dishes are cooked sufficiently.
  4. Arrange, garnish, and plate food for waiters or waitresses to serve.
  5. Attends production meetings that focus on preparation instructions, how to operate kitchen equipment, and the proper ways to clean and prepare all food items on the day’s menu.
  6. Maintains a clean and sanitized work environment.
  7. Monitors daily buffet foods in order to ensure temperature and quality presentation.
  8. Assists the kitchen staff in stocking and storing foods on delivery day.
  9. Maintains proper storage of leftover foods including proper labeling and dating of all foods.
  10. Adheres to all Health Department standards.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
