The Data Visualization Developer supports enterprise analytics and reporting initiatives for a Federal civilian agency by developing innovative dashboards, analytics solutions, and data storytelling capabilities that strengthen organizational decision-making and data literacy.
Position Overview
RIVA Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Visualization Developer to design, develop, and maintain impactful analytics and reporting solutions that improve organizational insight and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate with end-users, technical teams, and leadership to create accessible, intuitive, and visually compelling dashboards and reporting environments that support enterprise-wide data initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
  • Present emerging data analytics topics and best practices to stakeholder communities and organizational audiences.
  • Develop and deliver high-value training materials and workshops based on mission and business use cases.
  • Support organizational initiatives focused on strengthening data literacy and advancing data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visual analytics solutions.
  • Partner with end-users to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to dashboards, databases, and data processing scripts.
  • Perform end-to-end data preparation, transformation, and validation workflows.
  • Create intuitive and visually compelling user experiences that effectively communicate analytical insights.
  • Ensure dashboards and reporting solutions meet accessibility and Section 508 compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain data models to support scalable and efficient reporting environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Continuously improve reporting performance, usability, and visualization standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data visualization, business intelligence, analytics development, or related technical roles.
  • Strong experience with Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Understanding of data visualization best practices and data storytelling principles.
  • Experience with UI/UX design concepts for analytical applications and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and relational database concepts.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility compliance standards.
  • Experience with data preparation, transformation, and workflow automation processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
