D365 F&O Infrastructure Lead
Department: Information Technology
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Liberty, SC
Description
Reliable Automatic Sprinkler Company is seeking an experienced D365 Infrastructure Lead to take full ownership of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment. This role is responsible for the strategic management, administration, and optimization of all D365 infrastructure and integrations, including Microsoft Fabric, Matillion, and Snowflake data environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across enterprise ERP and data platforms, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial setting
How You Will Help
D365 Environment Management
  • Serve as the primary owner and administrator for all Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O environments (Development, Test/QA, and Production).
  • Manage environment lifecycle including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Oversee platform health, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for all D365 instances.
  • Coordinate and execute release deployments using Azure DevOps and Lifecycle Services (LCS).
  • Establish and enforce environment governance policies, access controls, and security standards.
  • Own and manage the full quality update lifecycle, including scheduling, coordination, and validation of Microsoft-issued quality and version updates across all environments.
  • Plan and coordinate regression testing activities following updates or configuration changes, working with functional teams to ensure business process continuity.
  • Manage D365 licensing, monitor consumption and entitlements, and optimize licensing costs in alignment with business needs and Microsoft agreements.

Security Management
  • Serve as the primary administrator for D365 F&O security, including design, configuration, and maintenance of security roles and duties.
  • Manage user access provisioning and deprovisioning, ensuring least-privilege principles are applied consistently across all environments.
  • Conduct periodic access reviews and audits to maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR, functional leads, and compliance teams to align security roles with organizational responsibilities and segregation of duties (SoD) requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve security-related incidents, including unauthorized access attempts and role conflicts.
  • Maintain documentation of security role configurations, user access policies, and audit trails.

Microsoft Fabric
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Fabric workspaces, capacities, and data pipelines.
  • Support integration between D365 Finance & Operations and Fabric analytics environments.
  • Manage data lakehouse architecture and ensure data quality, lineage, and governance.

Environment Cost Monitoring & Management
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with all D365 F&O and Microsoft Fabric environments, including Azure compute, storage, and service consumption.
  • Track and report on environment spend against budget, identifying trends and flagging anomalies for IT leadership.
  • Optimize environment configurations to reduce unnecessary resource consumption, including right-sizing sandbox and non-production environments.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft and internal procurement teams to manage license true-ups, renewals, and cost forecasting.
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-saving opportunities such as environment scheduling, capacity adjustments, and license reallocation.
  • Maintain a cost management dashboard or reporting mechanism to provide visibility into ongoing infrastructure expenditure.

Collaboration & Support
  • Partner with functional teams, developers, and business stakeholders to support D365 customizations and integrations.
  • Act as escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents across supported platforms.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Lead or contribute to platform upgrade and migration projects.

What You Will Bring
  • 5-7+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple D365 environment tiers (Development, Test/QA, Production) via LCS and Azure DevOps.
  • Proven track record planning and executing quality and version updates, including regression testing coordination across functional teams.
  • Experience managing D365 licensing, including entitlement tracking, consumption monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric, including workspace and capacity management.
  • Hands-on experience administering D365 F&O security roles, duties, and user access management.
  • Strong understanding of segregation of duties (SoD) principles and access control best practices.
  • Experience with Azure cost management tools and ability to monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud infrastructure spend.
  • Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure, Active Directory, and cloud security fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic, production-sensitive environment.

Preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environment - strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with D365 dual-write, virtual entities, and Dataverse integrations.
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate) in conjunction with D365.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
  • Prior experience leading infrastructure teams or mentoring junior administrators
