Software Security Engineer (Entry-Level)

We're looking for a motivated, early-career engineer with a strong technical foundation and a passion for cybersecurity. In this role, you will support Secure Product Development initiatives across the engineering organization, including secure coding, tool administration, automation scripting, vulnerability management, and advising software engineers on security requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to grow their skills and contribute to building a secure-by-design engineering culture.
Responsibilities
  • Secure Product Development:
    • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security standards and best practices.
    • Help identify, triage, and track remediation of vulnerabilities.
    • Contribute to the integration and tuning of security tools (SAST, SCA, DAST, secrets scanning, etc.).
    • Provide guidance and support to engineers regarding security requirements.
    • Participate and guide product teams in threat modeling to identify potential risks using STRIDE and DREAD frameworks.
  • Automation & Scripting:
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to improve security processes and workflows.
    • Create small internal tools or utilities that support engineering productivity and security visibility.
  • Systems & Tool Administration:
    • Help manage and administer security-related platforms (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA scanners).
    • Assist with onboarding engineers to security tools and workflows.
    • Support documentation efforts for operational procedures and tool usage.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
    • Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, and IT to promote secure practices.
    • Participate in security incident response activities as needed.
    • Stay up to date with emerging security trends, threats, and technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related technical field.
  • Strong familiarity with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Understanding of core cybersecurity topics such as OWASP Top 10, SSDLC, and common vulnerability types.
  • Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and security concepts quickly.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework, internships, or projects related to cybersecurity.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with GitHub or similar version control systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines or developer tooling.

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 63900.00-118700.00
