About the Role

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented SOC (Security Operations Center) Analyst to join our IT Security team. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity career who is eager to gain hands-on experience monitoring and defending enterprise systems.

In this role, you'll support day-to-day security operations by identifying, investigating, and helping resolve potential security incidents. You'll work closely with internal analysts and external SOC partners to help protect the organization's systems, data, and users. Your work will directly contribute to strengthening the organization's overall security posture.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and support daily operations of security tools and technologies, ensuring effective and efficient performance.
  • Investigate alerts and suspicious activity, escalating potential security incidents as appropriate.
  • Review system logs, reports, and security events across endpoints, networks, and identity platforms to identify risks and recommend remediation.
  • Assist in threat hunting activities and collaborate with internal teams and external SOC partners to respond to potential threats.
  • Participate in vulnerability management efforts, including vulnerability assessments, audits, and remediation tracking.
  • Maintain and support security documentation, including policies, standards, baselines, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Contribute to maintaining secure configuration baselines for systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Support evaluations of security tools, technologies, and enterprise security architecture initiatives.
  • Stay current on cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and evolving attack methods.
  • Assist with employee security awareness training and initiatives to promote a security-first culture.
  • Participate in security audits, penetration testing activities, and risk analysis efforts.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or a related discipline.

Technical Skills

  • Foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, systems, cloud technologies, and applications.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as threat hunting, incident response, security analysis, and/or digital forensics.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800 series, CIS, CMMC).
  • Exposure to enterprise security tools and concepts, such as:
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
  • Network security monitoring
  • Firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • Identity and access management
  • Vulnerability management tools
  • Awareness of security best practices and general enterprise cybersecurity principles.
