Job description

Job Summary:
Confluera is a Series B funded cybersecurity startup on a mission to secure our cyberworld. They are seeking a Software Engineer (Backend) to build distributed systems, develop APIs, and enhance anomaly detection to support their cybersecurity solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Building distributed systems processing large volumes of data.
• Design, develop and maintain APIs, systems to enable the product in a scalable fashion.
• Building models and features to enhance anomaly detection.
• Work & Communicate with Product, Design and Other Engineering teams.
• Develop and iterate fast, maintaining a high quality bar.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Programming languages needed: Java, Python
• Familiarity with streaming platforms such as Kafka
• Familiarity with stream processing systems such as spark
• Familiarity with distributed systems
• BA/BS or MA/MS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Preferred:
• Experience working on streaming and stream processing systems such as kafka, spark etc.
• Experience building ETL pipelines
• Have experience working with distributed systems
• Have delivered a production system on a large scale and has experience maintaining it
• Leadership experience
