Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Operational Excellence (Industrial Engineering & Labor Management Systems) is responsible for driving operational performance through the application of industrial engineering principles, labor management system expertise, workforce analytics, and continuous improvement methodologies. This role serves as a key partner to Distribution Center and Network Leadership in optimizing labor productivity, performance management, staffing strategies, and operational execution.

The Senior Analyst leverages Labor Management Systems (LMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), engineered labor standards, work measurement methodologies, and advanced analytics to identify opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making. This position combines hands-on operational knowledge with analytical expertise to improve workforce effectiveness and deliver sustainable business results.

The role requires strong influence, communication, and problem-solving capabilities, with responsibility for leading labor-focused initiatives across multiple operational functions and facilities. Ability and willingness to travel up to 33% to CVS distribution center sites.

Primary Responsibilities

Labor Management Systems (LMS) (40%)

  • Serve as an additional subject matter expert for Labor Management Systems and labor performance reporting.

  • Monitor and analyze labor productivity, utilization, earned hours, indirect labor, and performance trends.

  • Maintain and validate labor standards, allowances, and performance metrics.

  • Conduct LMS health assessments and support system optimization initiatives.

  • Partner with Operations leaders to improve labor performance management and accountability processes.

  • Identify variances between expected and actual labor performance and provide corrective action recommendations

Industrial Engineering & Labor Optimization (30%)

  • Apply industrial engineering methodologies to improve labor productivity, workforce utilization, and operational efficiency.

  • Analyze operational workflows and workforce performance to identify productivity improvement opportunities.

  • Conduct labor studies, process observations, and workflow evaluations to improve operational performance.

  • Support the development, validation, and maintenance of dynamic engineered labor standards.

  • Evaluate operational methods and identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve labor effectiveness.

  • Analyze throughput, staffing, and productivity relationships to improve resource planning and operational performance.

Workforce Analytics & Performance Insights (20%)

  • Analyze labor, operational, and financial performance data to identify trends and business opportunities.

  • Provide actionable insights related to productivity, staffing efficiency, workforce utilization, and operational performance.

  • Translate complex operational data into meaningful recommendations for business leaders.

  • Identify emerging performance risks and opportunities through proactive trend analysis.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence (10%)

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on labor productivity and operational efficiency.

  • Facilitate root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities.

  • Support Lean, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence initiatives utilizing data-driven decision-making.

  • Support implementation of operational best practices, standard work, and performance management processes.

Project Leadership

  • Lead medium-sized projects and support larger enterprise initiatives focused on workforce performance and operational excellence.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and stakeholder communication strategies.

  • Present recommendations, findings, and business cases to site and network leadership.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Workforce Planning, HR, and Technology teams.

  • Influence outcomes and drive adoption of operational improvements without direct authority

Ideal candidate location aligns with one of the following distribution centers in: LaHabra (CA), Patterson (CA), Conroe (TX), Lumberton (NJ), Woonsocket (RI), Chemung (NY), Novi (MI), Kansas City (MO), Indianapolis (IN), Orlando (FL), North Augusta (SC), Fredericksburg (VA), or Knoxville (TN)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Logistics, Engineering Technology, or 4 years additional experience required.

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial engineering, labor management, operational excellence, supply chain operations, distribution, manufacturing, or workforce analytics.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Labor Management Systems (LMS).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience analyzing labor productivity and operational performance metrics.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), specifically INFOR, Blue Yonder and Manhattan

  • Experience in distribution center, fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.

  • SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or business intelligence experience.

  • MOST Certification

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

  • Experience supporting productivity improvement or workforce optimization initiatives.

  • Exposure to capacity planning, labor forecasting, and operational modeling.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and querying of data

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Knowledge of engineered labor standards, work measurement, MTM, or time study methodologies.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Logistics, Engineering Technology, or 4 years additional experience required.

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $102,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
