Position Summary

The Pharmacy Analytics team within Data, Digital,Analytics, and Technology (DDAT) supports the shaping of Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness (PCW) data and analytics AI strategy, discovering products and opportunities to accelerate growth, and identifying net new offerings or capabilities. This role serves in an advisory capacity to Pharmacy Analytics Leadership Team - partnering closely with leaders to evaluate challenges and opportunities, facilitate decision-making, and execute early-stage proofs of concept.

The Senior Manager, Strategic Planning will play a pivotal role in translating Pharmacy Analytics Leadership team's into actionable growth strategies and innovative product offerings. Reporting to the Executive Director, Chief of Staff, you will focus on strategy and portfolio execution, cross-functional coordination, and talent, culture, and leadership enablement. The role will have high visibility across multiple functions, including Product, Retail Store Operations, Supply Chain, Pharmacy Operations and Professional Practice, and Specialty Growth and Operations, and Pharmacy Analytics Leadership Team.

This leader creates leverage for Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness Analytics leadership, ensuring the organization scales effectively as its portfolio, technical complexity, and business impact continue to grow. Ideal candidates are autonomous, creative, and entrepreneurial thinkers who can collaborate effectively across functions and with executive leadership.

Role and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Act as the 'tip of the spear' for AI, retail, pharmacy, and market intelligence, bringing critical insights on evolving product and market landscape(s) and enterprise activity to Pharmacy Analytics and other stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to assess opportunities, develop strategic positions, and build robust business cases aligned with the company's strategic objectives, short-term, and long-range business plans.
  • Shape and codify the product strategy through corporate planning and annual strategic initiatives


Product Innovation

  • Lead the evaluation and piloting of next-generation products and services, utilizing lean startup approaches to validate and iterate solutions for market readiness and revenue growth
  • Conceptualize initiatives that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning to enhance existing offerings or unlock new opportunities
  • Lead strategic partnership evaluations, including relationship building, use case development, capability assessments, and contracting


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness business partners to translate complex technology and product developments into business implications and strategic positioning for the organization
  • Collaborate with Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness Analytics Product, Consumer, Operations, Finance, Merch, and Supply Chain teams to co-design offerings and ensure the viability and successful delivery of emerging capabilities.
  • Grow to collaborate with Enterprise Strategy teams to ensure alignment across the CVS Health enterprise
  • Steer highly effective leadership meetings, adapting in real time to drive decisions and positioning oneself as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree is highly preferred (MBA, MPH, or MHA)
  • 8 or more years of experience in a dynamic, fast-moving, related profession (e.g., management consulting, corporate strategy, product innovation or design)
  • 5 or more years of health care industry experience
  • Highly strategic and structural thinker who is comfortable with ambiguity and simplifying complex problems
  • Background working in a matrixed environment, aligning stakeholders and navigating competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including delivering structured presentations, crafting PowerPoint and Excel analysis, and communicating with executive presence and active listening
  • Comfort with market sizing and commercial modeling to determine ROI and long-term viability
  • Demonstrated experience with solution ideation and executing pilots or proofs of concept

  • Aspirations: Interested in building towards a Strategy & Operations, senior Chief of Staff, Product, or Analytics leadership roles

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$90,480.00 - $199,144.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
