Job Summary: The Senior Global Trade Specialist will oversee and optimize our Maquiladora/IMMEX operations. This role will have a deep understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and supply chain management, with a specific focus on Maquiladora/IMMEX programs. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods across borders, while maximizing cost savings and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Maquiladora/IMMEX Operations: Manage and optimize all aspects of Maquiladora/IMMEX operations, including import/export processes, customs compliance, and inventory control.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations, including NAFTA/USMCA, customs laws, and other applicable trade agreements.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to streamline cross-border operations, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
  • Customs Documentation: Prepare and review all necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations, certificates of origin, and other required paperwork.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other key vendors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the Maquiladora/IMMEX framework, including duty deferral, tariff classification, and other trade incentives.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate risks associated with international trade, including compliance risks, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical factors.
  • C-TPAT Certification Management: Oversee and manage C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) certifications for both the US and Mexico, ensuring adherence to security guidelines and maintaining certification status.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on trade activities, compliance status, and cost savings, and present findings to senior management.

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in global trade management, with a focus on Maquiladora/IMMEX operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Fluency in English required, and Spanish fluency is preferred.

Salary Range: $80k-$90k - open to remote or hybrid candidates, with frequent travel to California, if not residing there.
