Job Summary of the of the Customs Entry Writer position

Integr8staff seeks a Customs Entry Writer for our client a transportation arrangement and international customs broker. This is a rewarding opportunity offering great pay and room for advancement and leadership.
Responsibilities of the Customs Entry Writer position
Audit commercial documents, applying Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code from the customer account HTS database for accurate duty assessment and ensuring all federal requirements are met.
Prepare and execute customs entries, ensuring timely clearance and efficient follow up.
Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each customer on the correct method and data requirements for customs clearance.
Track and trace shipments and coordinate with steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipment.
Follow up customs examinations until completed and cargo pick up.
Invoice customers for duty and entry charges.
Provide updates to U.S. Customs and customers.
Arrange for freight delivery of shipments.
Respond to daily emails and incoming calls.
Adhere to a high level of operational excellence with respect to on-time performance, accuracy, and customer service.
Requirements of the Customs Entry Writer position
2+ years of experience in customs brokerage field as an entry writer.
Familiar with Harmonized Tariff Schedule and T86 experience.
Ability to classify commodities preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of incoterms (terms of delivery) of the business.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with appropriate follow-up.
Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Self-motivated and directed.
High level of attention to detail
Ability to work overtime during peak times and/or customer requirements modify.
