Job description

Organization: New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation 

Location: 1801 Mountain Rd. NW,   Albuquerque NM 

An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award

JOB SUMMARY:

Primary point of contact for customers. Job will be primarily based in the DynaStore gift
shop, with additional training in DynaTheater and the Membership Desk. All areas require a
high level of professionalism and customer service.

Specific Duties include:

Dyna Store
Demonstrates a welcoming customer focused environment by greeting customers,
responding to questions, and improving customer engagement
Provides excellent customer service - recommend merchandise on the floor and at
the register
Accurately uses point of sale system
Balances cash drawers for both open and closing shifts
Restocking and pricing merchandise as directed
Introduces promotions and opportunities to customers
Maintain tidiness of the store daily
Direct and sell memberships to customers as needed
Work in a team environment to assist with other projects and tasks as needed or
assigned

Membership Desk
Deliver high quality customer service
Provide services and answer questions to current members
Sell memberships to potential Museum visitors
Inform members and visitors of current Museum events
Strives to maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services available at the
Museum, Planetarium, DynaTheater, NatureWorks, Foundation, and Cafe
Sell admissions to members and Museum visitors
Balances cash drawers for both open and closing shifts
Assist Foundation sta with upcoming events and projects

DynaTheater
Eiciently open the theatre at the start of shift and close at the end of day
Operates projection system equipment to project all movies, lectures, special
events, etc.
Maintain cleanliness of the theater and operating room daily
Distributes, collects, washes and dries 3-D glasses.
Seats guests, school groups and make all necessary announcements before show
starts as well as assist handicapped guests with entry, seating, etc.
Notifies the Theater Manager immediately of any facility problems or complaints,
Handles high level technical problems quickly and eiciently, including
communicating to the audience, the procedure that will follow. (Such as evacuating
theater properly during an alarm).
