Service Manager
Summary: Service Manager will support the branch's service technicians focused on maximizing productivity, ensuring customer satisfaction, and guaranteeing all equipment is properly maintained and repaired. This role will work closely with the General Service Manager along with other branch personnel to ensure a seamless customer experience resulting in consistent growth along all lines of business.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the activities of the shop and Field technicians throughout the day to maximize productivity.
  • Evaluate performance of service technicians and identify skills training through regular coaching and online OEM training.
  • Supervise the diagnosis and repair of customer, rental, and owned equipment to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
  • Must ensure accurate quotations, correct problem diagnosis, high quality repair and maintenance work, and minimize rework.
  • Prepare, process, and ensure work order documentation is completed in a timely matter.
  • Optimizing the customer service experience by advising them on the course of action in repairs, before, during, and after the work is completed.
  • Proactively advise customers of upcoming parts and service needs.
  • Maximize the customer and dealership warranty reimbursement claims by collaborating with the warranty administrator and service technicians.
  • Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, personal compliance, accountability, and communication.
  • Track the running cost of service trucks (All locations), including mile reports.
  • Keeping track of maintenance/repairs (All Service Trucks).
  • DOT and License reporting/keeping track and recording information.
  • TFM and SiteWatch/setting up in the system.
  • ProCare/Scheduling services and setting up in the system.

Requirements:
  • Five years' experience in heavy equipment, including a background in customer service.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment with an understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Capabilities in the use of standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office general knowledge of dealer business systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and team first mentality.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • High school degree; Associate degree or above preferred.
