You may help them learn how to greet customers, how to assist customers with problems, and how to remain professional when dealing with demanding customers. As a manager, your job also includes helping meet customer satisfaction targets, improving customer loyalty, and supporting the actions of the sales departments. Customer service managers often make recommendations for improving performance and work with the human resources department to hire employees and make decisions on disciplinary matters. Job description

Arquet is hiring a General Manager

Arquet is a new, ingredient-driven California restaurant newly open in San Francisco’s Ferry Building, from the team behind Michelin-starred Sorrel. This large-format lunch and dinner concept will feature wood-fired cooking, seasonal locally sourced produce from the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, and a refined yet casual waterfront dining experience.

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Service Manager to help lead our front-of-house team and play a key role in shaping the service standards and overall dining experience of Arquet. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a large team—working alongside an accomplished, creative team in one of the city’s most iconic locations.

The Service Manager, under the direction of our General Manager, is responsible for:

Service Standards & Quality Assurance

  • Establishes and enforces standardized operating procedures for all steps of service, including greeting protocols, timing, and table presentation.

  • Evaluates front-of-house performance regularly through floor observations and guest feedback to continuously refine service quality.

  • Partners closely with the kitchen team to maintain clear communication regarding timing, order accuracy, and guest dietary needs.

Staff Training, Education & Development

  • Executes structured onboarding and training programs for all front-of-house positions to ensure consistent service execution.

  • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings to educate and test the team on menu changes, beverages, and service SOPs.

  • Provides ongoing coaching and performance evaluations to improve skills, and increase team retention.

What you can expect from us:

  • A supportive, collaborative leadership team
  • High standards and clear expectations
  • Full benefits program
  • Paid vacation

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of FOH management in a high-profile restaurant
  • Strong wine knowledge; Sommelier certification a plus
  • Proven experience defining and mentoring fine dining service standards

We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

We’re excited to meet you.
