Job description

Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Salem Veterinary Hospital | Virginia Beach, VA

Pay: $15.00+ per hour, depending on experience

Do you love people just as much as you love pets? Are you someone who brings a great attitude to work, enjoys being part of a team, and is always ready to learn something new?

Salem Veterinary Hospital is looking for a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join our team!

Our CSRs are often the first and last impression our clients have of our hospital, and we know how important that role is. We're looking for someone who can help create a welcoming experience for every client and pet while keeping our busy hospital organized and running smoothly.

What You'll Do
  • Welcome clients and pets with warmth, professionalism, and a smile.

  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and help clients navigate their pet's care.

  • Check clients in and out and process payments accurately.

  • Communicate clearly with clients, doctors, and the veterinary team.

  • Help manage appointment flow and keep the front desk organized.

  • Assist with client questions, prescription requests, and medical record requests.

  • Handle challenging situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism.

  • Support your teammates and jump in where needed to help the hospital succeed.

  • Learn about veterinary services and preventive care so you can confidently assist our clients.

What We're Looking For
  • A positive attitude and genuine love for both people and pets.

  • Someone who believes being a great teammate is just as important as being great at their individual job.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Dependability, organization, and attention to detail.

  • Comfort working in a busy environment and managing multiple priorities.

  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow.

  • Previous veterinary or customer service experience is a plus, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are incredibly important to us.

What We Offer
  • Competitive pay starting at $15.00+ per hour, depending on experience.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Paid time off and paid holidays.

  • 401(k) with company match.

  • Employee pet care discounts.

  • Training and opportunities to continue developing your skills.

  • Opportunities for professional growth within a growing organization.

  • A team environment where collaboration, communication, and supporting one another matter.

Come Grow With Us

At Salem Veterinary Hospital, we're looking for someone who wants to be part of the team, not just work at the front desk. You don't need to know everything on day one. We want someone who is excited to learn, ready to contribute, and committed to creating a great experience for our clients, their pets, and their teammates.

If you're a people person, a pet person, and a team player all rolled into one, we'd love to meet you!

Apply today and come grow with Salem Veterinary Hospital.
