Banks Insurance is a family-owned independent insurance agency proudly serving the Roanoke Valley for over 40 years. Our agency is built on relationships, responsiveness, and trust. We are known for being friendly, accessible, and committed to helping clients protect what matters most.

We primarily represent Erie Insurance while also partnering with carriers such as Progressive Corporation and The Travelers Companies to best serve our clients needs.

Our office is expanding and we are looking to hire the right individual to join our outstanding customer service team. We are currently seeking to fulfill a full-time position.

The Customer Service Agent will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our current clients and new prospects, processing policy change requests, maintain knowledge of our products, and answer any questions our clients may have.

Insurance industry or office experience and knowledge is not required but would be a greater benefit relating to customers in the beginning for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Process customer policy change requests.
  • Handle all incoming claim calls from customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of new products.
  • Develop insurance quotes, makes sales presentations, and closes sales.
  • Obtain prospects' information such as name, address, vehicle information and enter into quoting tools.
  • Presents and explains insurance policy options based upon prospective client needs and their personal goals.
  • Provide policies to new clients and explain benefits/risks of the policy
  • Proactively conducts coverage reviews with clients prior to annual policy renewal(s)

Requirements
  • A Property & Casualty license is preferred but will train good individual.
  • Possess a genuine willingness to learn, be intuitive and resourceful and be coachable.
  • Possess an upbeat, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Be a great self-starter with healthy sense of urgency.
  • Excellent Communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks effectively throughout the workday.
  • Professional phone etiquette.
  • Problem-Solving Capabilities.
  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills.
  • Ability to tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations.
  • Be equipped with great listening and closing skills.
  • Proficiency with basic uses of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Google Sheets, and other related software
  • Experience with Agency Management Systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Commercial Line Property and Casualty Insurance or willingness to learn is preferred
