Job description


Position: Reliability Engineer
Duties: Responsible for guaranteeing plant capacity by improving equipment reliability and functionality. Utilize and analyze data available to perform the needed functions, determining best actions to improve equipment mean time between failures and mean time to repair. Support the Maintenance Department for equipment install and upgrades. Track Key Performance Indicators, utilizing and improving computer management systems and preventative maintenance. Perform Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) on all critical equipment to improve the quality, reliability, and safety of a process. Analyze equipment data to determine availability and reliability of equipment. Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support on equipment reliability issues. Design out maintenance equipment reliability issues to reduce maintenance downtime. Perform purchasing for components and materials to complete projects. Ensure Reliability Centered Maintenance through equipment upgrades and future project implementation. Perform research through the review of documentation, technical resources, and suppliers. Develop PM programs and equipment is current with CMMS. Ensure new/obsolete equipment is current with CMMS. Provide input to strategic planning process including maintenance operations and maintenance expenses. Track equipment Mean Time to Repair and Mean Time Between Failures. Improve spare part management by working with MRO buyers and suppliers. Ensure execution of scheduled and breakdown maintenance (overhauling) including installation and removal of old equipment. Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately. Use company's innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plant. Be proactively involved with improving working conditions. Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them. Assist in achieving plant quality objectives/goals. Understand customer needs and work toward meeting and exceeding them. Actively support full implementation of the 5S's, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat and properly maintained. Perform other duties/responsibilities at the Elizabethtown, KY facility, as needed. Assess current equip't conditions and drive design improvements to eliminate failure modes & reduce maintenance-related downtime. Perform following to improve reliability: vibration analysis on press motors and gearboxes; oil analysis for hydraulic systems; thermography for electrical and mechanical components as electrical panels, VFD, Motors, etc.;monitoring tonnage curves and press loads; sensor-based monitoring (IoT); predictive analytics (AI-based failure prediction); ultrasound analysis; non-destructive testing. Utilize & analyze vibration analysis data (acceleration, velocity, displacement, frequency spectrum, time waveform signals, bearing defect frequencies, shaft speed, gear mesh frequency, high frequency, enveloping/demodulation), oil analysis for hydraulic systems (particle count, wear metal, water content, viscosity, total acid and base numbers, additive lvls trend, contamination, wear/PQ index), hydraulic systems data analysis, tonnage curves & press loads data analysis, thermography (electrical panels & drives) data analysis. Utilize diagnostic & condition monitoring instruments such as vibration analysis tools, infrared cameras, oil sampling tools, electrical testing devices, and alignment & precision measurement tools, tonnage monitoring/data tools, portable data collectors/IoT devices, ultrasonic detection tools, lubrication & inspection tools, and digital & software tools (indirect but essential) to assess and improve equipment reliability. Work on projects focused on eliminating failures, improving equipment performance, implementing predictive maintenance strategies,& driving design improvements to increase reliability & reduce downtown of machine/manufacturing line. Use company's innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plant.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related discipline.
