We are looking for a Public Relations Officer in La Jolla, CA.  

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and writing various internal and external communications and coordinating public relations events to achieve the company's public relations objectives. 
  • Promote and protect the reputation of the company and its products, its employees and its initiatives. 
  • Identify public relations opportunities and recommend company participation in or sponsorship of community events. 
  • Work with management and partners to plan and implement public relations activities, including press releases, media pitching, social media posts, etc. 
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with local, national, and industry news media.
  • Track media mentions, reputation reports, and industry trends. 
  • Manage the blog editorial calendar, website publishing, and social media accounts. 
  • Coordinate public relation activities to support and enhance marketing programs and initiatives, new products and company sponsorships. 
  • Represent company at various public events. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 6 years of directly related experience. 
  • Frequently seeks out the development of new PR theories and methods. 
  • Employs advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist of written communications, public relations, journalism, and computers. 
  • Good organizational, communication, customer service and problem solving skills. 
  • Word processing skills required.
