Job description

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.

THE TEAM:

The AECG - Embedded Team builds and optimizes platforms for embedded and commercial applications, working across silicon, firmware, and software to deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions at scale.

THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Product Manager to lead the commercialization, go-to-market strategy, and market success of AMD Embedded x86 Customer Reference Boards (CRBs) and Developer Platforms. This role will drive product positioning, messaging, launch execution, competitive strategy, and customer adoption across key embedded markets including industrial automation, robotics, medical, networking, aerospace & defense, and edge AI.

As the business owner for the CRB portfolio from a marketing perspective, you will work closely with Silicon product marketing, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and ODM partners to bring innovative AMD Embedded x86 platforms to market and accelerate customer adoption.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is passionate about embedded computing and customer enablement. You thrive in highly cross-functional environments, influence without direct authority, and enjoy transforming customer requirements into commercially successful products.

You possess strong strategic thinking, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to balance technical tradeoffs with business priorities while working with global engineering teams and external ecosystem partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy & portfolio management

  • Ability to define product vision, roadmap, positioning, and portfolio strategy for AMD Embedded x86 Customer Reference Boards and Developer Platforms.
  • Experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through production.
  • Ability to drive complex schedules, identify risks, resolve cross-functional issues, and deliver products on time.
  • Ability to manage product profitability, demand forecasting, inventory planning, and end‑of‑life transitions.
  • Strong understanding of market segmentation, competitive analysis, customer requirements, and product differentiation

Customer & Market Focus

  • Experience gathering Customer feedback and translating customer needs into product requirements.
  • Ability to support strategic customer engagements, executive briefings, design-win activities, and technical workshops.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Platform Development, Silicon, Marketing, Sales, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain.
  • Strong influencing skills without direct organizational authority.

Technical Leadership

  • Strong understanding of embedded x86 platform architecture, including:
    • PCIe Gen4/Gen5
    • DDR4/DDR5 memory
    • USB4/USB3
    • Ethernet (1/10/25/100GbE)
    • SATA/NVMe storage
    • High-speed I/O
    • Thermal and mechanical design considerations
  • Ability to work effectively with hardware, firmware, BIOS, and software engineering teams throughout product development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in Product Marketing, Product Line Management, Platform Marketing, Technical Marketing, or Program Management within the semiconductor, embedded computing, or enterprise hardware industry.
  • Proven experience managing hardware products from concept through commercialization, including product definition, launch, and lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with x86 computing platforms, embedded processors, customer reference boards (CRBs), developer kits, evaluation platforms, or industrial computing systems.
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware architecture, including processors, chipsets, memory, PCIe, networking, storage, power delivery, and high-speed interfaces.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%) to support customers, partners, and industry events.

Preferred Qualifications
