In 2018, NorthStar Energy recognized the enduring power of the Inlet brand which customers associated with exceptional service and thought leadership. After a refresh, Inlet Petroleum Company became Inlet Energy. With over 40 employees housed in a newly constructed building on Ship Avenue in Anchorage, Inlet Energy is equipped with over 40,000 square feet of warehouse storage, a state-of-the-art 100,000-gallon bulk tank farm, and its own fleet of bulk fuel and lubricant trucks. 

Inlet Energy provides exceptional customer service to retail, commercial, and government customers in Alaska. Inlet's team of professionals has the most Certified Lubrication Specialists (CLS), Oil Monitoring Analysts (OMA-1), and Machine Lubricant Analysts (MLA) in the state. Inlet Energy is based out of Anchorage with operations in Kenai, Fairbanks, and Prudhoe Bay. The inlet is also a major fuel distributor for the road system from the Kenai Peninsula to Fairbanks. 

Job Summary:

The Customer Service Representative at is responsible for handling product customer accounts and providing exceptional customer support. This role involves scheduling daily deliveries, utilizing dispatch software for efficient tracking, maintaining accurate records, communicating with drivers, and promptly responding to customer inquiries. The Customer Service Representative plays a vital role in ensuring smooth delivery operations, maintaining customer satisfaction, and adhering to safety regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and answer the phone in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, other departments and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Utilizes the SkyBitz dispatch software to plan and track oil delivery truck positions and gallons for efficient delivery management.
  • Accepts and records orders for products and promptly communicates the order details to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provides customer support related to pricing, payment, and invoicing management, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains and organizes accurate records of all delivery documents and inventory reconciliation to track product availability.
  • Follow DOT regulations to ensure safety compliance and proper handling of deliveries.
  • Participates in safety meetings and promptly reports any injuries, spills, property damage, or identified job hazards to management.
  • Acquires and evaluates all necessary information to respond promptly and efficiently to customer inquiries.
  • Serves as a liaison between customers and various departments, identifying and prioritizing issues for resolution.
  • Resolve customer requests by analyzing the situation and conducting research on products and applications.
  • Performs occasional errands outside the office as needed to support business needs.
  • Completes miscellaneous office tasks, such as data compiling and invoicing, contributing to efficient operations.


Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Previous experience in customer service or related field is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to use computer, Microsoft Office
