Job description

The Company You'll Join
Garage powers the exchange of critical assets across essential industries. We started with fire departments, where purchasing mission-critical vehicles and equipment could take months of navigating outdated, opaque processes-and we're continuing to expand that model to new industries. Our agentic platform automates the entire journey: discovery, payments, freight, warranty, and financing. What once took months now takes minutes.
In under a year, we've expanded to cities and towns in all 50 states and grown revenue more than 10x. Based in New York, we've raised $18M from Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, Infinity Ventures, FJ Labs, and other leading investors. We're moving fast, growing quickly, and just getting started.
In this role, you will
  • Own operational initiatives and special projects - take initiative on projects that improve workflows, strengthen operations, and help the team scale.
  • Maintain operational accuracy and visibility - update and manage trackers and internal systems to ensure deal status, documentation, and timelines are always current.
  • Problem-solve and exercise judgment - identify issues, gather missing information, resolve straightforward requests efficiently, and escalate when needed to keep deals moving.
  • Internal Collaboration - own the operational coordination between clients, Sales, Engineering, and other internal teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and accurately, while surfacing opportunities to improve the customer experience.
  • Operate with speed and precision - manage multiple active transactions at once while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-moving environment.
  • Support users in navigating the product - help buyers and sellers understand how to use the Garage platform and complete required actions smoothly, and identify ways to improve the user experience.
We're looking for someone who
  • Takes ownership, works effectively with a high degree of autonomy, and is proactive about identifying and driving solutions.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Is skilled at engaging with customers and building trust through clarity, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Is able to prioritize and manage multiple active requests and deadlines efficiently.
  • Is confident navigating spreadsheets, trackers, and multiple data sources, with the ability to interpret and communicate insights clearly.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of experience in operations, customer-facing, or analytical roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from frontline operators to CEOs, via phone and email.

Nice to have
  • Experience operating in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.
  • Proficient with ticketing and project management tools (e.g., Notion, Jira, Linear) to manage tasks, workflows, and client requests
  • A curious, proactive mindset, with a willingness to contribute new ideas
  • Low ego and willing to roll up their sleeves-taking ownership of projects and doing whatever it takes to move the work forward

Our values
  • Growth oriented. We invest in people who grow as the company grows. We all should be constantly learning.
  • Humility. Everyone has a lot to give and a lot to learn. We believe in creating an environment where the best ideas win and acknowledging when we are wrong.
  • Customer focused. We have a genuine love for our customers. Customer success is our success.
  • Hack to success. We move fast and take big swings. We always aim for a solution that addresses 80% of the problem in 20% of the time. We make informed bets, launch quickly, and iterate.

Why Garage?
  • Our product is something people use everyday to buy the equipment local communities everywhere depend on.
  • We have a talent-dense, high-performance team where everyone joining now has an outsized impact.
  • What we've built works. We're backed by world-class vendors: Y Combinator, Infinity Ventures, Initialized Capital, FJ Labs, and more.
  • You'll be one of our first 40 employees, operating as a foundational member of the team, partnering alongside the company's founders.

What we offer
  • Competitive salary and stock options
  • 100% covered health, dental and vision insurance (with additional buy-up options)
  • Unlimited paid time off every year (in addition to company observed holidays)
  • Daily lunch & dinner
  • $100/month wellness stipend
  • 401(k) w/ employer match to help save for your future
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Bi-annual team offsite
  • Relocation assistance
