Our client is seeking a hands-on Database Cloud Engineer to design, build, and support AWS cloud database infrastructure while assisting with the migration of enterprise Oracle and SQL databases from on-premises environments to AWS. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience who is passionate about cloud architecture, automation, and high-availability database platforms.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud database solutions.
- Assist with migrating Oracle and SQL databases from on-premises environments to AWS.
- Deploy and maintain multi-region AWS database environments for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and GitLab pipelines.
- Write IaC to deploy custom applications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools in AWS.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver cloud-based database solutions.
- Support AWS networking components including VPCs, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
- Participate in additional cloud infrastructure initiatives and technical projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Strong experience with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with AWS RDS databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle.
- Experience with Amazon Redshift.
- Experience migrating enterprise databases to AWS.
- Experience deploying and supporting multi-region AWS environments.
- Practical knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including compute, network, and storage.
- Hands-on experience with AWS networking technologies including VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks and MongoDB/MongoDB Atlas.
- Experience with containerization technologies including AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud database environments in highly regulated organizations.
