Excavation Superintendent & Estimator
Location: Routt County or Moffat County, Colorado (required or plans to relocate)

About the Role
Timberline Contracting is seeking an experienced Excavation Superintendent & Estimator to lead and grow our excavation division. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who excels at managing crews, building systems, monitoring budgets, and driving projects from estimate through execution.
You'll be responsible for supervising all excavation activities, preparing bids, ensuring quality control, and building the structure needed to support a scalable excavation operation. This role is ideal for a motivated, independent leader ready to take ownership of an essential part of our business.
What You'll Do
  • Lead excavation projects from pre-construction through completion
  • Prepare accurate excavation estimates and develop detailed budgets
  • Supervise excavation crews and daily field operations
  • Maintain safety protocols and enforce OSHA standards
  • Ensure work is completed on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Monitor quality control and jobsite performance
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and PMs
  • Review construction drawings, specs, and site conditions
  • Create internal systems and structure for excavation estimating

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in excavation and estimating
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong knowledge of excavation methods, equipment, and logistics
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site plans
  • Proficiency in estimating software, construction management tools, and Microsoft Office
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Must live in or plan to relocate to Routt County or Moffat County, CO
