What if my ex claimed my child on her taxes?

In the context of custody tax, if your ex claimed your child on her taxes and you are the custodial parent, you may be eligible to file IRS Form 8332 to release your claim and claim the child yourself. Custody arrangements and IRS rules determine who can claim the child, so reviewing custody agreements and IRS guidelines is essential. Disputes may require legal or tax professional assistance to resolve.

Can I sue my ex for claiming a child on taxes?

Custody Tax professionals can advise on child-related tax issues, but generally, the IRS determines who can claim a child based on custody and support agreements. Suing your ex for claiming a child on taxes typically involves legal custody disputes, which are handled in family court, not through tax claims. It's important to follow IRS rules and possibly seek legal counsel for custody and tax claim disputes.
