Job Description/Summary

Skilled laborer position is held within different sections of Curtis Contracting, Inc. Under close supervision, a skilled laborer performs traffic control duties, concrete preparation, and guardrail installation duties including all safety regulations and procedures. Work is performed outdoors at construction sites, maintenance facilities and outside environments with exposure to inclement weather. Moderate physical demands; strength sufficient to lift and move items weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Knowledge and practical application to operate mini excavators, skid steers, front end loaders and familiar with some aspects of heavy equipment operation.
  • Techniques of traffic control.
  • OSHA safety rules and regulations, and safety standards in hazardous traffic environments.
  • Federal and state safety laws and regulations.
  • Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of small construction equipment as well as miscellaneous hand held tools according to standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Following safe work practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Following verbal and written instructions.
