Essential Functions
This position is to help manage Continuing Education programs and develop new programs. In addition, the Continuing Education Specialist will assist with market analysis, reporting, marketing, and student engagement. The Continuing Education Specialist will also ensure compliance with student documents and records retention. This position will require me to meet with students, community members, and industry leaders as needed to provide general information on Continuing Education and non-credit offerings.
The Continuing Education Specialist will work under the general direction of the Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assist in the implementation of processes and procedures related to program creation and student enrollment.
  • Advise students on CE programs.
    • Write CE schedules quarterly.
    • Understand the Workforce Education Course Manual (WECM)
    • Abide by the Guidelines for Instructional Programs of Workforce Education (GIPWE)
    • Participate in the recruitment of CE Instructors.
    • Create and adhere to systems that ensure compliance with documentation.
    • Research local and state regulations related to the programs that we are offering.
    • Participate in outreach events
    • Assist in developing marketing materials for CE programs.
    • Monitor course paperwork to ensure that grades are entered and documents are filed correctly.
    • Develop community partnerships
    • Assist with curriculum development.
    • Assist in providing training to new instructors.
    • Register students for CE courses.
    • Mail out CE certificates to students who complete and pass CE courses.
    • Process grade sheets from instructors and ensure documentation is complete.
    • Coordinate with federal contracts to ensure compliance
    • Partner with third-party organizations to increase opportunities for CE students.
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or the ability to complete an Associate's degree within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher

Work is generally performed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume. May require some outdoor work for CBC events. May require work at third-party locations.
