Job description

Northeast Regional Field Measure & Sales Support Representative
Company: CDI Custom Curb Adapters
Department: Sales / Field Services
Location: Remote - Northeast U.S.
Travel: Up to 60-75% throughout the Northeast
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager
Position Summary
CDI Custom Curb Adapters is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and customer-focused Northeast Regional Field Measure & Sales Support Representative to join our growing Manufacturing Plant in Charlotte, NC.
This is a remote, field-based position that combines two critical functions: field measuring and sales support. This person will serve as a key connection between CDI's customers, sales team, field operations, engineering, production, and shipping.
A significant portion of the role will involve traveling throughout the Northeast to commercial job sites to perform accurate field measurements of existing HVAC equipment and roof curbs. When not in the field, this position will provide remote sales and project support, including quoting, order entry, customer communication, scheduling measurements, tracking projects, and coordinating with internal CDI teams.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being in the field, building relationships, solving problems, staying organized, and taking ownership from the initial customer request through project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Field Measuring & Customer Support
  • Travel throughout the Northeast to commercial job sites to perform field measurements.
  • Measure existing HVAC equipment, roof curbs, structural conditions, and related dimensions according to CDI standards.
  • Take detailed measurements, photographs, notes, and documentation.
  • Identify unusual or potentially problematic field conditions and communicate them to the appropriate CDI team.
  • Complete accurate field measurement reports and submit them within required timelines.
  • Communicate professionally with contractors, roofing contractors, mechanical contractors, building owners, and other job-site contacts.
  • Build strong customer and contractor relationships while representing CDI professionally.
  • Coordinate directly with customers to schedule field measurements and confirm job-site requirements.
  • Follow all CDI and job-site safety requirements, including rooftop and ladder safety.
  • Provide feedback from the field to Sales, Engineering, Production, and Leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve CDI's products, processes, and customer experience.
Sales Support & Project Coordination
  • Support the Northeast Regional Sales team with day-to-day customer and project needs.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries by phone and email.
  • Prepare and manage quotes and assist with order entry.
  • Coordinate customer information, measurements, drawings, and project documentation.
  • Track projects from initial quote through production and shipment.
  • Coordinate field measurement schedules and communicate updates to customers and Sales.
  • Review field measurement information for completeness and accuracy before moving projects forward.
  • Work closely with Engineering to resolve measurement or project questions.
  • Coordinate with Production and Shipping to help ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Follow up on open quotes, orders, measurements, and customer requests.
  • Maintain accurate customer and project information within CDI systems.
  • Assist with CRM, ERP, reporting, and other sales-support activities.
  • Communicate project status, delays, changes, and potential issues proactively.
  • Help resolve customer concerns and find practical solutions.
  • Provide backup support to the Northeast sales team when needed.
Travel & Territory Management
  • Manage an assigned Northeast territory and travel schedule.
  • Travel regularly throughout the Northeast for field measurements and customer visits.
  • Plan efficient travel routes and schedules.
  • Occasionally attend customer meetings, trade shows, training, and team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate mileage, travel, and expense records.
  • Represent CDI professionally in every market and customer interaction.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in HVAC, commercial roofing, construction, sheet metal, field measuring, sales support, project coordination, or a related industry preferred.
  • HVAC industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand measurements, dimensions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong follow-through and accountability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, tablets, smartphones, and online communication tools.
  • Experience with CRM, ERP, quoting, or order-entry systems is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the Northeast.
  • Comfortable working on commercial rooftops and at heights.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and navigate commercial job sites.
  • Ability to lift 75LBs
  • Ability to learn CDI products, measurement standards, systems, and processes.
What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will:
  • Get the right information the first time.
  • Produce accurate measurements and documentation.
  • Respond quickly to customers and internal team members.
  • Keep projects moving and communicate roadblocks early.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and contractors.
  • Make it easy for customers to do business with CDI.
  • Effectively connect the field, Sales, Engineering, Production, and Shipping teams.
  • Take ownership of problems and help find solutions.
  • Manage their territory, travel schedule, and workload independently.
  • Represent CDI with professionalism and a positive attitude.
