Description:

Belstra Milling Co. is a family-owned agricultural business based in Demotte, IN. We are searching for an individual to work in our Feed Manufacturing department at our DeMotte location. Belstra thrives on making quality feed for livestock producers of all size. As a proud certified Safe Feed/Safe Food facility, our manufacturing and quality assurance processes and standards exceed current industry regulations. In addition, this position must work in compliance with all the company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  •  Operate multiple automation systems that control manufacturing and batching equipment
  •  Manufacture feed in accordance with quality assurance policies, SOPs, and current GMPs
  •  Weigh and set up various small quantities of feed ingredients
  •  Fill micro-bins with ingredients and accurately record inventory amounts
  •  Operate an inventory management system to better track ingredient usage
  •  Dump totes and bags into the mixer, depackaging pits or receiving pits 
  •  Load and unload ingredients from hopper bottom trailers as needed
  •  Operate forklift and semi-truck in the yard (willing to train and does not require CDL)
  •  Complete appropriate paperwork and reports accurately and timely
  •  Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  •  Perform inspections on equipment such as forklifts and spot truck
  •  Perform routine housekeeping
  •  Capable of completing tasks correctly while focusing on quality, service, and safety 
Requirements:

Skills and Requirements (included but not limited to):

Physical Demands:

  •  Ability to regularly lift 60 pounds
  •  Ability to walk, kneel, bend, climb, etc.
  •  Climb ladders and stairs and work at heights with good body balance
  •  Work near moving mechanical parts and a fast-paced production environment 
  •  Ability to work in a dusty, cold, hot, humid environment and withstand exposure to seasonal weather conditions

Education and Experience:

  •  High school diploma or G.E.D.
  •  Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
