Description

Linchpin Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Tactical Data Link Instructor to support the Joint Interoperability and Data Link Training Center. This position provides Tactical Data Link instruction, curriculum development, exercise support, and interoperability expertise to U.S., allied, and coalition forces.


The ideal candidate is a graduate of the JT-201 course with extensive Tactical Data Link experience, prior military instructor experience, and the technical expertise needed to prepare U.S., allied, and coalition forces to effectively operate and employ Joint Tactical Operations Interface capabilities.


Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance


Work Schedule: Full-time Onsite M-F


Schedules may be adjusted to support extended training periods, weekends, practical exercises, and courses conducted during federal holidays.

CONUS and OCONUS travel will be required to support Mobile Training Teams, allied training, exercises, and other mission requirements.


Role Overview  

The TDL Instructor supports the Joint Chiefs of Staff proponent for the Joint Tactical Operations Interface Training Program, helping ensure operational forces can effectively employ the full capabilities of Joint Tactical Operations Interface Systems.


This role supports the planning, development, coordination, delivery, and management of Joint Tactical Data Link training for U.S., allied, and coalition forces. Responsibilities include courseware development, formal classroom instruction, distance and Mobile Training Team delivery, joint exercise support, curriculum maintenance, and practical exercise execution.


The instructor may serve as a lead instructor, subject matter expert, or exercise participant and perform duties such as Joint Track Data Coordinator or Multi-TDL Network Manager.


The program annually delivers approximately 30 Joint and U.S. training courses across CONUS and OCONUS locations, producing approximately 2,000 graduates, as well as 30 Allied Training courses supporting approximately 500 graduates from 10 allied nations.

  • Strong instructional, presentation, and student-engagement skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading classes, exercises, and group activities
  • Ability to evaluate students and provide feedback
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prepare course reports and training documentation
  • Experience supporting curriculum updates and configuration control
  • Ability to work with military, Government, contractor, and allied personnel

Specific Skillset

  • Tactical Data Link instruction, facilitation, and student evaluation
  • Operation and configuration of BC3, MSCT, TDF, CAC2S, ADSI, TRAX, JRE, MOJO, FAADC2, or other similar systems
  • Performance or instruction of JICO, JICC Watch Officer, JTDC, Multi-TDL Network Manager, and communications functions during exercises 
  • Resident, distance-learning, and Mobile Training Team training delivery
  • Practical exercise, capstone, vignette, simulation, and white-cell support 
  • Course planning, administration, and instructional-material maintenance 
  • Courseware review, instructor observation, and certification support

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Graduate of the JT-201 course
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.                                         (Three additional years of relevant Tactical Data Link experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of Tactical Data Link experience (Candidates who do not meet degree requirements require a minimum of nine years of experience)
  • Previous military instructor experience is required
  • Experience operating or integrating various C2/TDL Systems required
  • Experience developing, revising, and maintaining technical curriculum and courseware preferred
