Culinary Supervisor - Jack Astor's (Service Inspired Restaurants)

At Jack Astor's it's all about personality, yes, we're all about a

Whatever role we hold in the restaurants, we are there for each

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains a productive partnership with the BOH leadership team to enable operational excellence.
  • Ensures stations are appropriately staffed and stocked before the restaurant opens and throughout shifts. Cooperates with the kitchen team by communicating necessary adjustments.
  • Supports the Management team in maintaining and facilitating all aspects of restaurant operations in accordance with our Team Member Handbook, Policies and Procedures to ensure alignment to consistent company practice.
  • Manages daily cash outs, produces reports, and communicates variances. Holds staff accountable for discrepancies.
  • Supports BOH Management team with kitchen inventory and purchasing; ensures that there is enough product on hand to complete daily production; orders new stock; purchases special order supplies, if necessary; ensures proper rotation and labeling of ingredients and products.
  • Live and teach Jacks' Values and Promises.
  • Use strong time management skills and attention to detail to complete our jobs.

Requirements:

  • 1 year previous restaurant experience at a supervisor level in a high volume or comparable restaurant is an asset.
  • Flexible schedule availability including opening, mid, and closing shifts in accordance with business needs.
  • First aid and food safety certifications are both an asset.
  • Smart Serve Certification is required.
  • Intermediate computing skills working with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel and Word) and restaurant software is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate in English (both written and verbal) across all levels i.e. staff, managers and business partners.
