Your Role:

As the Assistant Culinary Services Manager, you support the Director of Culinary Services by overseeing dining room operations and leading the dining services team. You help ensure a welcoming, well-organized, and high-quality dining experience for residents while maintaining safety, service, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist the Director of Culinary Services with oversight of dining room operations and supervision of dining services team members.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach while managing dining room traffic flow and balancing service responsibilities among team members.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager ensure leadership presence during meal times by greeting and seating residents, addressing concerns, and confirming satisfaction.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager prepare staff schedules and assign tasks including table assignments, side work, and closing duties.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager ensure team members meet standards for uniform appearance, customer service, and food handling practices.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager train dining room team members on operating procedures, service standards, and menu education.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager support efficient dining room operations within budgeted guidelines.
  • Promote resident engagement and interact with residents during meal times to monitor satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and service quality in the dining room and wait stations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, health, and safety standards for all dining services team members.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager operate in compliance with all state and federal regulations related to food service operations.
  • Monitor food quality for presentation, temperature, and portion control; communicate feedback to kitchen staff and leadership.
  • Evaluate table service for timing, etiquette, and thoroughness; provide coaching and service adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust resident meal accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure floor charts, table layouts, and dining room setups are accurate and properly maintained.
  • Assist servers with table service as needed to support smooth operations.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager record and track daily dining room sales transactions.
  • In conjunction with the Culinary Services Manager assist with ordering in assigned areas such as beverage or liquor inventory while maintaining budget compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in fine dining or high-end food service.
  • Previous dining room supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and support team members.
  • Commitment to delivering a high-quality dining experience for residents.
