General Summary
The Culinary Arts Work Study Student will assist the Culinary Arts Department with various tasks that support both the educational experience of students and the operational functions of the department. This position is ideal for students pursuing a degree or certificate in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related fields who are eager to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the culinary program.
Specific Position Duties
  • Assist instructors in the preparation and execution of culinary labs and demonstrations.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Support students during lab sessions by providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking supplies.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of departmental events, such as cooking competitions and community outreach programs.
  • Engage in food safety practices and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and record keeping.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on special projects as assigned.
