Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager who has hands-on experience in healthcare construction to represent the owner and lead major capital projects from early planning through occupancy. This role manages design teams, contractors, budgets, schedules and regulatory compliance while ensuring projects support clinical operations and patient safety. The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of industry experience. This individual will need to help drive project delivery, resolve issues quickly and ensure all stakeholders remain aligned to achieve safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare construction or capital project management
  • Demonstrated experience acting as an owner's representative or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, codes, and accreditation standards

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications (PMP, CCM, CHC, LEED AP, or equivalent)
  • Experience with acute care hospitals, surgical suites, imaging, or specialized clinical environments
  • Master's degree in related discipline

Planning & Design Management
  • Act as the single point of responsibility representing the owner's interests on healthcare capital projects
  • Lead project execution from programming through occupancy and post-occupancy evaluation
  • Ensure alignment with organizational goals, clinical workflows, and patient safety priorities
  • Coordinate with executive leadership, facilities, clinicians, and end users to define project requirements
  • Manage architects, engineers, and consultants during planning and design phases
  • Review design documents for constructability, operational efficiency, infection control, and regulatory compliance
  • Facilitate design reviews, user group meetings, and value-engineering efforts
  • Oversee construction managers, general contractors, and trade partners
  • Monitor schedule, budget, quality, and risk throughout construction
  • Review pay applications, change orders, RFIs, and submittals
  • Ensure compliance with ICRA, ILSM, interim life safety measures, and site safety protocols
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable healthcare regulations and codes (e.g., FGI Guidelines, Joint Commission, CMS, state DOH, local AHJs)
  • Coordinate inspections, surveys, and approvals required for occupancy

Financial & Contract Management
  • Develop and manage project budgets and cash flow forecasts
  • Track cost trends and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Review and negotiate contracts, amendments, and change orders
  • Provide accurate financial reporting to leadership

Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as liaison between hospital leadership, clinicians, facilities staff, designers, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction
  • Prepare and deliver regular project status reports
  • Facilitate issue resolution and decision-making

Commissioning & Close-Out
  • Oversee commissioning, systems testing, and owner training
  • Ensure delivery of as-built documents, O&M manuals, and warranties
  • Coordinate move-in, activation, and transition to operations
