They manage teams of crime scene investigators, ensure proper procedures are followed, and coordinate with law enforcement and forensic experts. Their role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of evidence, which may later be used in criminal investigations and court proceedings. CSI Coordinators also help train staff, maintain equipment, and may be involved in reporting and case management.

How does a CSI coordinator typically collaborate with law enforcement and forensic teams during an investigation?

A CSI Coordinator plays a crucial role in bridging communication between law enforcement officers, forensic specialists, and other investigative team members. They are responsible for organizing crime scene responses, ensuring proper evidence collection protocols are followed, and keeping detailed records for case continuity. To thrive as a CSI Coordinator, you need a solid background in crime scene investigation, forensic science, and evidence management, often supported by a degree in criminal justice or a related field.
