Position Description
The Research Technician will assist the Principal Investigator in executing non-routine and complex experiments with minimal supervision.
Position Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will work on developing and applying advanced single-cell multiomic sequencing technologies1,2 to human cancer samples, primarily in the areas of cancer genomics and transcriptomics, to study tumor-host interaction, tumor phylogeny, and immunology. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a high-level skill set in molecular biology research are required. The successful candidate will collect, record, and analyze data, and may also perform limited troubleshooting and basic maintenance and QC of laboratory equipment.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION:A Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related discipline is required for (level I requirement). Bachelor's Degree in Science and 2 years' practical experience working in a lab after completion of their degree (level II requirement)
EXPERIENCE: We welcome applications from researchers with experience in related fields, as well as outstanding fresh graduates. Adequate knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry is preferred. Experience in basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, RNA/DNA/protein extraction), molecular cloning, and cell culture is desirable. Additional experience with NGS library preparation, single-cell technologies (e.g., 10x Genomics, Smart-seq, or similar), microfluidics, or basic bioinformatics (command-line, Python/R) is a plus but not required.
SKILLS/OTHER: The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, solid analytical and organizational abilities, and clear lab notebook documentation. Strong skills in data collection and laboratory record-keeping are essential. The candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently, and interact effectively with other members of the research team.
